Wyoming Hay Summary

Week ending June 8, 2018

   Cutting of new crop hay is underway in most areas of the state. Many 
buyers and sellers alike are still trying to decide what the “fair” 
market value is for their fresh baled hay. Valley video hay auction has 
tentatively set next Thursday, June 14th, as there first auction of 2018 
hay crop if enough tonnage is consigned. If this sale goes as planned, 
there will be a lot of eyes glued to their smart phones or computers to 
see what the value of the new crop alfalfa. Plus a recap will be posted 
on the USDA market news website at
