South Dakota Weekly Hay Summary

All prices per ton, unless noted, FOB the stack.

Compared to last week: Price comparison is mostly steady for old crop, no comparison able
to be made for New Crop as this was the first reported sales of the year. Demand is good to very
good as hay supplies have been tight. Interest is very good especially from feedlots looking for
grinding quality hay. Weather cooperated for the most part this past week and allowed hay producers
to get a good start on their 1st cutting alfalfa. All hay and straw sold by the ton FOB, unless
