Week Ending Sep 27, 2019
Compared to last week alfalfa and grass hay steady. Alfalfa pellets and
ground and delivered hay steady. Demand was light to moderate in the
central and eastern areas with good demand in the western side of the
state. Some producers continue to cut alfalfa, some are cutting cane and
millet. Some farmers are picking soybeans and other have started sending
hi-moisture corn to feedlots. Silage choppers continue to pile tons of
feed. Most reports, crops are a few weeks behind a normal year but many
are surprise how well crops have performed after the slow and late start
many had. Note: “All sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay
barn, unless otherwise noted. All reported prices are on confirmed sold
prices.”
