Wyoming Hay Summary

Week ending Sep 27, 2019

   Compared to last week hay sold fully steady. Demand was moderate to 
good from local buyers with very good demand from out of state buyers.  
Producers that report in the East are starting on their fourth cutting of 
hay with the producers out West on their third cutting.  More than likely 
this will be the last cuttings of the year. Note: “All prices are dollars 
per ton FOB the field or hay barn unless otherwise noted.” 

Eastern Wyoming 
Alfalfa: Premium large squares 180.00; Good large squares 150.00-160.00; 
Fair large squares 130.00-140.00. Premium small squares 270.00. 
Alfalfa/grass: Premium large squares 230.00; Good large squares 200.00-
215.00. Alfalfa/oat mix large squares 120.00. Grass Hay: Premium large 
squares 225.00. Straw large squares 70.00-80.00. Sun-cured alfalfa 
pellets 15 percent protein 255.00. 
   
Central and Western Wyoming
Alfalfa: Good large squares 160.00-165.00; Fair large squares 120.00-
130.00. Premium small squares 200.00-220.00. Good rounds 150.00. 
Alfalfa/Orchard grass: Premium small squares 225.00-250.00; Fair large 
squares 120.00-130.00. Timothy: Good to Premium large squares 240.00; 
Premium small squares 235.00-250.00. Mix grasses: Fair large squares 
120.00-130.00. Certified weed seed free alfalfa cubes bulk 230.00-240.00,
