(^.^) ** HAPPY HALLOWEEN ** (^.^)
Ground/Grinding alfalfa movement: Southwest/South Central
Tonnage: 8,078/6,362 Last week: 7,168/6,548 Last year: 7,240/4,214
Hay market trade was slow, demand was slow to moderate, and prices remain
steady. Nothing new going on, all is steady as she goes. Most producers are
still reporting hay movement as slow, as harvest is keeping then busy. Cattle
are starting to move to pens so inquires have picked up a bit. The state is
bracing for its first major winter storm of the year, with all but a handful of
counties under a winter weather advisory. Abnormal dryness and moderate drought
continued to expand in western Kansas and the little snow received previously
was not enough to make dent. Abnormally dry (D0) conditions are at 13 pct,
moderate drought (D1) conditions are at 7.5 pct. and severe drought (D2)
conditions are at 6 pct. If you have any extra hay to sell and/or need hay here
in Kansas, use the services of the Internet Hay Exchange:
