Week Ending Oct 11, 2019
Compared to last week all reported forages sold steady. Demand was
light to moderate with good demand noted for ground and delivered hay
especially in places of the state where they are expecting snow the next
few days. Several reports from producers in the panhandle are mowing
alfalfa or other hay crops before the storm. Because, after the snow it
would be nearly impossible to pick up and cut. Some producers busy with
sugar beet harvest, dry edible bean and high moisture corn out west. Corn
and bean combining continues across most of the state. Note: “All sales
are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.
All reported prices are confirmed sold prices.”
