Weekly Texas Hay Report

   Compared to last report: Hay sold mostly steady to 5.00 higher with 
instances 10.00 higher.  Demand continued to increase with the supply of 
hay decreasing. Also, the variety of hay on the market was limited with 
wheat hay being sold out and difficult to find.  The Panhandle continued 
with the dry streak causing many cattleman with cattle out on wheat 
pastures to worry.  Supplemental feeding of livestock remains in full 
swing across the state as South Texas experienced its first freeze of 
winter.  Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.
