Week ending January 12, 2018 Compared to last week alfalfa hay sold fully steady. Some hay is getting imported to ranchers in the north eastern side of the state. Also, large square bales of alfalfa hay is getting exported to dairies from Colorado to Texas. Colder temperatures across the state this week, as contacts stated it is January in Wyoming and it’s usually cold! All prices dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn unless otherwise noted. Prices are from the most recent reported sales. Eastern Wyoming Alfalfa: Premium large square bales 145.00-150.00, Good large square bales 130.00-135.00, Fair large square bales 115.00. Alfalfa/grass mix: Premium large square bales (3x3x8) 60.00-70.00 per bale, Premium small square bales 7.00 per bale. Cornstalks in large square bales 55.00. Central and Western Wyoming Alfalfa: Supreme large square bales 160.00. Good large square bales 100.00-120.00. Premium small square bales 6.00 per bale. Alfalfa/grass mix: Good large square bales 100.00-120.00. Certified weed seed free alfalfa cubes 220.00-260.00.
