Wyoming Hay Report

   Compared to last week, prices were mostly steady with demand light in all 
regions.  The USDA Wyoming NRCS Snow-Precipitation Update for January 3, 2018 
has the Snake River Basin Snow Water Equivalent at 112%, the Madison-Gallatin 
basin at 97%, the Yellowstone Basin at 159%, the Wind River Basin at 137%, the 
Bighorn Basin at 130%, the Shoshone River Basin at 163%, the Powder River Basin 
at 115%, the Tongue River Basin at 91%, the Belle Fourche Basin at 96%, the 
Cheyenne River Basin at 103%, the Upper North Platte Basin at 78%, the 
Sweetwater Basin at 79%, the Lower North Platte Basin at 70%, the Laramie River 
Basin at 103%, the South Platte Basin at 91%, the Little Snake River Basin at 
67%, the Upper Green River Basin at 116%, the Lower Green River Basin at 84%, 
and the Upper Bear River Basin at 78% as a percent of the median of all SNOTEL 
sites in each basin.  According to the United States Drought Monitor, light snow 
fell across portions of the High Plains, providing a thin to medium blanket of 
snow across Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, northern halves of 
Colorado and Kansas, and southern South Dakota.  All prices dollars per ton FOB 
stack in large square bales and rounds, unless otherwise noted. Most horse hay 
sold in small squares. Prices are from the most recent reported sales. 

Eastern Wyoming

Central and Western Wyoming
  Alfalfa
   Small Squares: Supreme 200.00 (6.50 per bale).
   No reported quotes for other classes of hay.
