Compared to last week: All classes traded steady with moderate demand. According to the NASS Crop Progress report 9/11/18, warm and dry conditions prevailed across most regions of the state. Near midweek, a series of cold fronts from the Pacific Northwest brought temperatures along the most northern reaches of the state to rest at slightly below normal levels. As the cold fronts moved eastward, temperatures began rising to seasonal levels along the northern counties. Other areas of the state experienced a warm up heading into the weekend as high pressure built off the coast. By weekend’s end, the high pressure began to weaken and a gradual cooling trend began to settle in. Temperature highs ranged from the low 80s to low 90s in the mountains, low 80s to low 90s in the sierras, low 70s to low 100s along the coast, mid 90s to low 100s in the central valley, and high 90s to high 110s in the desert. Temperature lows ranged from the low 30s to low 60s in the sierras, mid 40s to low 50s in the mountains, low 40s to high 70s in the desert, low 50s to mid 60s along the coast, and low 50s to low 70s in the central valley.
