Colorado Hay Report

   Compared to last week, trade activity light on moderate demand.  According to 
the U.S. Drought Monitor’s High Plains Drought Summary for November 6, 2018, the 
region experienced near-to-below-normal temperatures with the largest negative 
anomalies (2-to-8 degrees below normal) in eastern Colorado and Wyoming.  
According to the NASS Colorado Crop Progress report for week ending November 4, 
2018, stored feed supplies were rated 15 percent very short, 25 percent short, 
56 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus.  4th cutting alfalfa hay was at 77 
percent harvested and Pasture and Range conditions were rated 32 percent Very 
Poor, 30 percent Poor, 15 percent Fair, 20 percent Good, and 3 percent 
Excellent.  USDA NRCS Colorado SNOTEL River Basin Index percentages:  Gunnison 
138, Upper Colorado 176, South Platte 195, Laramie and North Platte 151, Yampa 
and White 168, Arkansas 193, Upper Rio Grande 151, and San Miguel, Dolores, 
Animas and San Juan 140.  The next available report will be Thursday, November 
15, 2018.  All prices reported are FOB at the stack or barn unless otherwise 
noted.  Prices reflect load lots of hay.  If you have hay for sale or need hay,
