Week ending 11/16/2018
Seems winter is here this week as temperatures were 20-25 degrees below
normal a couple of days this week. Many areas received their second and
third snow of the season, which is not exactly exciting seeing as it isn’t
even Thanksgiving yet. Although the snow was really short lived in most
cases, it did have farmers out feeding cattle. There has been a slight
uptick in movement although there are several places where getting trucks
in and out has to be done early, due to soft ground in the afternoons. The
supply of hay light to moderate. Hay prices are steady. Hay demand is
light to moderate. The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay
directory available for both buyers and sellers. To be listed, or for a
directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/ for listings of hay
