Compared to last week: Alfalfa hay prices sold fully steady.
Demand for hay was mostly light to moderate on heavy offerings.
Demand was slightly lighter this week than last led mostly by
local hay sales which were lighter this week. Hay continues to
move to out of state buyers, both to the southern drought areas
and to western dairies. Warm weather continues to allow ranchers
to graze across much of the state as the ground is open and
grass remains available. Colder and snowy weather has moved
in for today across much of the western and southern portions
of the state. However, warm weather returns for Thanksgiving
week. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise
noted.
