Nebraska Hay Summary

Week Ending November 16, 2018

*** Next report released will be November 29th ***

Compared to last week alfalfa, grass hay, ground and delivered products
and dehy pellets sold steady. More buyers are looking for a cheaper
source of roughage to blend into winter rations. Nice seasonally warm
temperatures around the state this week allowing farmers to make huge
head way in wrapping up harvest. Cattlemen been busy filling cornfields
with cows for winter grazing and some have started to ask about the cost
of available baled hay. Many are hoping the warm and open weather will
continue so limited feed will need to be bought. A lot of cornstalks and
soybean stubble along with cane and millet hay getting baled. All sales
are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted.
