Week ending 1/25/2019
A pretty typical winter week in the state since the last report. A couple
of storms came though making travel difficult in some areas a few days.
Many areas in the south still having a hard time dealing with mud as the
ground just does not want to stay frozen. Several farmers are lacking
much for on farm hay inventory and trying to decide if they would just
be better off to sale calves early and reduce use in hopes of stretching
what they have a bit longer. The supply of hay light to moderate. Hay
prices are steady to firm. Hay demand is moderate to good. The Missouri
Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers
and sellers. To be listed, or for a directory visit
