Wyoming Hay Summary

Week ending January 25, 2019

Compared to last week all reported forages sold steady. Some
producers’ area either out of hay or getting very short on hay to sell
especially on the better testing hay. Resent video hay auctions may clean
up some of the volume of squares left to sell across the state. Valley
video hay auction has a sale today (01/24) and the results will be out on
Friday and can be viewed at
https://www.ams.usda.gov/mnreports/to_gr325.txt Light snow across some
areas of the state along with a blustery winds the last few days has
required ranchers to supplement cattle with feed. More seasonal
temperatures are on the way and hopefully will help keep feeding to a
minimum. All prices are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn unless
otherwise noted.
