Hay trade mixed

In Nebraska, alfalfa hay, grass hay, ground and delivered hay and dehydrated pellets sold mostly steady, according to the USDA Market News Service, Jan. 25. Prices given on per-ton basis, unless otherwise noted.
Eastern/central—Premium alfalfa, large squares, $180; good large squares, $140-$160, large rounds, $100-$110. Premium grass hay, large rounds, $100-$105, small squares, $160-$170; good, large rounds, $85-$90.
Platte Valley—Good alfalfa, rounds, $100-$110. Cornstalk bales, $60-$65. Ground and delivered alfalfa, $140-$145. Ground and delivered alfalfa-stubble mix, $130-$135. Ground and delivered cornstalks, $95-$110. Dehydrated pellets, 17% protein, $230. Sun-cured alfalfa pellets, 15% of or better at $210.
Western—Supreme alfalfa, large squares, $200-$205; premium, large squares, $175-$180; good, large squares, $150-$160, large rounds, $130-$145. Premium grass, large squares, $230. Cornstalks, large squares, $60-$80. Ground and delivered alfalfa, $150-$155.

In South Dakota, East River and West River areas, alfalfa and grass steady as high quality hay inventory levels diminish. Strong demand for hay with arctic winter weather experienced the area and to continue into next week.

In Missouri, the supply of hay light to moderate. Hay prices are steady to firm. Hay demand is moderate to good.

In Oklahoma, alfalfa trade was slow this week. Movement mostly moderate with bulk of movement coming in from out of state. Demand was light to moderate.
