Week ending 3/22/2019
Although hint of spring continue to show up winter sure is not letting
go easy. Freezing rain and snow made up most of the weather over the last
week. Farmers are continuing to use up what hay they have and are really
ready for feeding season to end and grass to arrive. Hay movement has
been moderate on days weather allows for travel. Most hay being bought is
coming with quite a fright bill as it just isn’t easy to find much if any
locally which has been the case for a while. Hay supplies are light,
demand is moderate and hay prices are steady. The Missouri Department of
Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and sellers. To
be listed, or to view the directory visit
