Compared to last week, trade light on good demand. Farmers are getting first
cutting down across most of the state. Higher elevations are still 2 to 4 weeks
from cutting due to unseasonably cold, wet weather. According to the U.S.
Drought Monitor’s High Plains summary for June 11, 2019, elsewhere in the
region, some isolated shower activity (generally <1.5 inch accumulations) was
observed this week in the eastern plains of Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming,
while areas of central Kansas and Nebraska saw accumulations ranging from 1 to 3
inches. The next available report will be Thursday, June 20, 2019. All prices
reported are FOB at the stack or barn unless otherwise noted. Prices reflect
load lots of hay. If you have hay for sale or need hay, use the services of the
Colorado Department of Agriculture website: www.coloradoagriculture.com.
