First week of new crop prices, market comparison is not applicable.
Rainy, cool weather pattern across the state has been troublesome for
most producers. Early, reports, tonnage is lighter than normal and most
producers are holding off until the end June, first of July to cut hay.
There has been some hay baled in the Eastern side of the state and a few
loads sold. Some hay has been cut and it waiting for sunny weather so it
can be baled. On the most part, producers have been receiving a lot of
calls on new crop hay. Some reports of replanting of corn and beets on
talks with week. All prices are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn
unless otherwise noted.
Eastern Wyoming
Alfalfa/grass: New crop Good large squares (horse hay) 180.00. Sun-cured
alfalfa pellets 15 percent protein 255.00.
Central and Western Wyoming
Alfalfa: Certified weed seed free alfalfa cubes bulk 230.00-240.00,
50 lbs bags 280.00.
