Week ending June 14, 2019
Compared to last week all reported forages sold steady on a thin test.
Demand was light to moderate. First cutting alfalfa progressing on the eastern
side of the state with some baled and stacked, however, hay producers on the
western side are looking closer to the end of the month before pulling equipment
into their fields. Mostly cool to warm, but dry weather, was noted across the
state aiding in hay production, as well as late season field work for farmers
trying to plant crops. All prices are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn
unless otherwise noted.
Eastern Wyoming
Alfalfa: Good large rounds 150.00-160.00 delivered. Sun-cured alfalfa pellets 15
percent protein 255.00.
Central and Western Wyoming
Alfalfa: Certified weed seed free alfalfa cubes bulk 230.00-240.00, 50 lb bags
270.00-280.00.
