Alfalfa trade mostly light to moderate this week. Movement was mostly light. Demand was very good for all alfalfa offerings. Dairy demand was mostly moderate with the bulk of demand coming from feedlots and grow yards. Supplies and offerings remain light and buyers are looking for supplies both locally and out of state. Grass hay trade was moderate, significantly improved over the past two weeks. Demand for grass and wheat hay was good and supplies mostly moderate. Grass hay prices mostly steady to firm. Much of western Oklahoma remains under drought conditions with burn bans remaining in place. Alfalfa aphids have begun showing up and producers will likely begin spraying soon. Grass Hay Central Oklahoma: Good Bermuda 4 X 5 bales 40.00-55.00; 5 X 6 bales 60.00- 75.00, instances 80.00. Good mixed grass 4 X 5 round bales 30.00-45.00, mostly 35.00-40.00 per bale. Western Oklahoma: Good Bermuda horse quality 65.00-75.00 per bale in 5 X 6 bales, Good wheat hay 5 X 6 bales 75.00. Good Bermuda cow hay 5 X 6 bales 50.00-70.00, 4 X 5 bales mixed grass 35.00-45.00.
