Weekly Texas Hay Report

   Compared to last report: All hay classes held steady as the wait 
continues for new crop expected in late April.  Demand was good on 
dwindling supply.  Variety of hay was slim as there are only about 4 
types of hay on the market this time of year.  A good crop of cotton 
burrs available this year that feedlots have added to their rations.  
Coastal Bermuda producers in East Texas have had plenty of rain and 
expect a good crop this season.  Prices for hay and pellets quoted per 
ton except where noted.

Panhandle/High Plains:
   Alfalfa: Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme 230.00-275.00; 
  Good to Premium 185.00-230.00.
  Small Bales: Delivered: Premium 321.75, 9.75 per bale. 
   Ground Alfalfa: Delivered to feedlots: 175.00-185.00; Calf 185.00-
