Compared to last week: Hay prices sold fully steady.
Hay supplies continue to be very tight across the
state. Many hay producers have opted to buy hay
out of Idaho and Wyoming again this week as delivered
price for that hay is competitive with locally purchased
hay. Demand was slightly lighter this week as warmer
weather was seen. Delivery on already purchased hay
is an issue in some locations as extremely muddy or
slushy conditions are being reported. This is making it
difficult to get to hay stacks. Straw supplies continue
to run near zero, however limited sales are seen each
week. Straw prices sold with higher undertones on very
light volume. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless
otherwise noted.
