Compared to last week: Hay prices sold mostly 10.00 higher, with instances of 10.00-20.00 higher seen on fair quality hay. Hay supplies are very light across the state. Another round of snow is expected over the weekend. Hay movement was heavy this week. Many ranches have become aggressive in purchasing hay as they recalculate the amount of hay needed to make it until grass time. Notably, hay quality has become less of a factor as supplies tighten. Straw supplies continue to run near zero and what limited loads are available have been purchased very quickly. Many ranchers are being forced to have straw delivered in out of Idaho. Straw prices sold mostly 10.00-15.00 higher again this week. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
