Compared to last week: Hay prices sold unevenly steady.
Hay producers in Western Montana sold hay this week and
while this hay is lower on a FOB basis this hay is steady
on a delivered basis as most of this hay is going to
Eastern Montana. Hay supplies remain very light across
the state. Hay is being delivered into Montana from both
Wyoming and Idaho as prices in these states are lower and
delivered prices are competitive with local FOB prices.
Straw supplies continue to run near zero. Many ranchers
are being forced to have straw delivered in out of Idaho.
Straw prices sold steady this week on very light supplies.
All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise
noted.
