According to the U.S Drought Monitor for July 3, 2018, 79.54 percent of the state falls in a D0-D4 Drought Category compared to 14.42 percent a year ago. Of those percentages, 52.31 percent falls into the D2-D4 categories. The NASS Colorado Crop progress report for week ending July 1, 2018, stored feed supplies were rated 13 percent very short, 23 percent short, 63 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. 1st cutting Alfalfa hay progress is at 91 percent, 2nd cutting 8 percent. Pasture and range conditions percentages are 21 percent Very Poor, 30 percent Poor, 24 percent Fair, 23 percent Good, and 2 percent Excellent.
