Week ending 07/20/2018 Slightly cooler temperatures came to the state this week and a few places have been lucky to be under the right cloud and get some rain. Still more isolated occurrences than wide spread but there was several reports of one to near three inches in various parts of the state over the last week. Rains in any amount are extremely welcome but current conditions have gotten to the point it is going to take much more than a couple of inches to really change the situation. Over 26 percent of the state is now listed as severe (D2) or extreme (D3) drought status. Stock water supplies are also becoming a concern in some areas and there has been a noticeable increase in producers culling parts of cattle herds as well. Hay supplies are light.
