Tons: 15,282 Last Week: 11,200 Last Year: 25,400
Compared to last Friday, export and domestic Alfalfa steady to weak.
Timothy for export steady. Trade moderate to active with moderate demand.
High testing Alfalfa is in short supply. Tariff increase to China went from
7.5% to now 32.5%. Note that commodities in general are struggling this
week thanks to the announcement of another large round of tariffs imposed
on Chinese goods. Furthermore, China is expected to retaliate. In short,
the trade war appears to be worsening. Most Chinese hay exporters have
pulled off the market. Retail/Feed store steady. All prices are dollars
per ton and FOB the farm or ranch unless otherwise stated.
