Compared to last week, prices were mostly steady with firm undertones with activity and demand good in all classes. The NASS Colorado Crop Progress and Condition report for the week ending September 10, 2017 states that dry conditions were ideal for fieldwork last week, allowing producers to achieve significant progress in harvest of small grains. Pasture and Range conditions were rated 1 percent very poor, 10 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 50 percent good, and 12 percent excellent. Alfalfa crop condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 11 percent poor, 23 percent fair, 58 percent good, and 6 percent excellent. Alfalfa third cutting is 73 percent complete and fourth cutting is 9 percent complete. All prices reported are FOB at the stack or barn unless otherwise noted. Prices reflect load lots of hay.
