Weekly East River South Dakota Hay Market

All prices per ton, unless noted, FOB the stack.

   Compared to last week:  Alfalfa hay sold with weaker undertones on light reported
sales.  Demand and interest has been light the past couple of weeks as many end users
of hay have their focus currently on corn silage harvest and preparing for soybean harvest.
Temperatures this past week have been normal to above normal, with a cold front forecast to
come across much of the state over the weekend and bring with it varying amounts of moisture
from 2-6 inches depending on location.  All hay and straw sold by the ton FOB, unless otherwise noted.

   Alfalfa:  Premium to Supreme:  Large Squares, 150.00. Good:  Large Squares, 140.00-150.00.
Fair:  Large Squares, 120.00.  Utility:  Large Rounds, 100.00.

   Sun-cured Alfalfa pellets:  15 pct 160.00; 17 pct 165.00.  Alfalfa Meal: 17 pct 170.00.

   Alfalfa/Grass Mix:  No Reported Sales.

   Grass:  No Reported Sales.

   Straw:  Large Squares, 110.00.

   Cornstalks:  No Reported Sales.
