Compared to last week: Hay prices sold fully steady. Supply and demand this
week was light to moderate. Precipitation continues to hit much of the reporting
area this week, with some producers reporting up to 8 inches of snow in certain
areas. Soil moisture has improved as well with NASS reporting a 35% of topsoil
retaining adequate moisture, a 34% increase from the prior week. Precipitation
this week is helping to dampen wildfires in the western portion of the state
however, mounting snowfalls are hampering emergency personnel from getting to
some areas. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
