Weekly Texas Hay Report

  Compared to last report:  Most hay classes remained steady on slow
movement and light demand.  Ground Alfalfa sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher.
Dairies and Feedyards continued to buy only as needed as new crop Alfalfa
prices came onto the market. Spotty summer thunderstorms were forecasted
in the Panhandle if you were fortunate enough to receive any rain. 
Coastal Bermuda producers in the North, East and South were busy baling
hay if it was dry enough to get into their fields.  Pastures are in good
condition so little to no supplemental feeding is needed at this time.
Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.
