Weekly Texas Hay Report

  Compared to last report:  Most hay classes remained steady except 
instances of new crop Alfalfa sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher.  Movement was 
slow to moderate.  The Panhandle received some much needed rain and has 
benefited pastures but curbed hay movement.  North and East Texas Coastal 
Bermuda producers are behind on new crop prices due to baling around 
rain.  South Texas Coastal Bermuda producers have some new crop available 
and plenty of old crop still around.  Prices for hay and pellets quoted 
per ton except where noted.

Panhandle/High Plains:
   Alfalfa: Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme 180.00-210.00; 
  Good to Premium 165.00-180.00.
       Small Bales: Delivered: Premium to Supreme 288.75, 8.75 per 
  bale.
   Alfalfa/Wheat: Large Bales: Delivered: 140.00.
   Ground Alfalfa: Delivered to feedlots: 145.00-165.00. Calf 165.00-
  190.00.  Brown 120.00-135.00.        
   Coastal Bermuda: Large Rounds: Delivered: Good to Premium 120.00- 
  180.00.
   Wheat Hay: Large Bales: Delivered: 105.00-130.00. 
   Small Bales: FOB: 198.00, 6.00 per bale.
