Weekly Texas Hay Report

  Compared to last report:  Hay traded fully steady on slow to moderate
movement.  A wide spread continues on the dairy quality Alfalfa as buyers
are having to pay for the freight and new crop prices.  The Panhandle
received an inch to several inches of rain over the previous weekend
which benefitted local pastures and gave relief to triple digit
temperatures.  Coastal Bermuda producers in the North, East and South
part of the state were back in the hay fields if it was dry enough to get
in and out.  The area received heavy amounts of rainfall from the recent
tropical storm.  Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where
noted.

Panhandle/High Plains:
