Compared to last week: Alfalfa hay sold steady. Demand
for squares to ship out of the state is very good.
Supplies of hay in squares continue to tighten. Demand
for hay in rounds is moderate with sales continuing to
move at steady money. Warmer weather is in the forecast
and many hope the weather has turned the corner, however
there is still almost 2 months of feeding before grass
time. Straw continues to move at steady prices. Straw
sales were light to moderate this week. Wet conditions
and excessive snow melt will continue to keep ranchers
using straw supplies. All prices are dollars per ton and
FOB unless otherwise noted.
