Compared to last week: Alfalfa hay sold steady to firm.
Demand remains good for hay in squares to ship out of
the state. Supplies of hay in squares are very light as
a result. Local demand improved again this week as cold
and snowy weather continues to keep hay usage high. However,
warmer weather is on the way this week with warmer temperatures
forecasted across the state. Lots of snow remains on the
ground across the state and ranchers will continue to
heavily feed hay for several weeks. Straw continues to
move at steady prices. Straw sales continue to move on
moderate to good demand and light to moderate supplies.
All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise
noted.
