Wyoming Hay Summary

Week ending March 29, 2019

Compared to last week all reported hay sold steady. Majority of the
contacts stated they are mostly out of hay. Still have some loads to ship
but all have been marked sold. Many areas of the state put up top quality
large and small square bales with a lot of those bales going to horse
owners in the Eastern third of the USA. Some hay has stayed in the local
market across the state and other hay has made its way to out of state
dairies. Several reports up in the Powell area that barley planting is
under way along with fertilizing some perennial forages. Light flurries
have been reported north of Powell on Thursday afternoon with snow or
rain in the forecast the rest of the week across most of Wyoming.
All prices are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn unless otherwise
noted.
