Compared to last week: All classes traded steady with moderate demand.
According to NASS Crop Progress report April 08, 2019, temperatures for the week
were above average for the most part across California. The Sierras experienced
scattered showers and maintained above-average snow depth, while temperatures
reached as high as 96 in the desert. Temperature lows ranged from the 30s to
upper 40s in the Sierras, 30s to high 60s in the desert, low 40s to high 50s
along the coast, and mid-40s to high 50s in the valley. Temperature highs ranged
from upper 30s to high 70s in the Sierras, high 50s to low 80s in along the
coast, low 60s to the 80s in the valley, and low 60s to high 90s in the desert.
In Tulare County, wheat and alfalfa continued to mature. Silage crops were being
cut. Spring silage continued to be planted. Hay is reported FOB the stack or
barn unless otherwise noted. Regions are defined at bottom of report.
