Washington-Oregon (Columbia Basin) Weekly Hay Report

Tons: 6775 Last Week: 1550 Last Year: 1400

Compared to last Friday, All grades of Alfalfa and Timothy steady in a light
test. Trade slow to moderate. Demand excellent as remaining supplies are in firm
hands. Export sources report that the Japan Hay market is dropping on all products.
Most exporters are lowering Timothy by 25.00-40.00/ton to stimulate demand because
exporter owned inventory is too high. Grass straw and Alfalfa are better but still
show a softer trend. Retail/Feed store steady. All prices are dollars per ton and
FOB the farm or ranch unless otherwise stated. Delivered prices include freight,
commissions and other expenses.
