Week ending 4/12/2019
Some farmers were able to get back into fields this week. Winds and near
record high temperatures helped to dry the ground back out some. There
were some reports of some baleage being made this week as some cereal rye
was wrapped up. Grasses are growing at a pretty good rate now and won’t
be long before more hay equipment gets put to use. The supply
of hay is light, demand is moderate and prices are steady. The Missouri
Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers
and sellers. To be listed, or to view the directory visit
http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/ for listings of hay
