Compared to last week: Hay prices sold mostly steady to 5.00 higher. Demand for Alfalfa is mostly good on light to moderate supplies. Hay supplies in Eastern Montana are extremely light and cattlemen have begun to look for hay in other parts of the state to fill needs. This has helped improve demand throughout the state. Straw supplies are very light across the state. Ranchers have begun to calve in some locations and with heavy snowfall seen across the state, straw usage is high. Limited sales were seen again this week on straw, however steady to firm undertones were noticed. All prices are dollars per ton and FOB unless otherwise noted.
