Week ending February 23, 2018 Compared to last week all reported forages sold fully steady. As winter has hangs on, with bitter cold temperatures and snow this week, producers are having to buy extra hay to feed livestock. A lot of reports of 20 to 30 below in western and north central areas of Wyoming the last few days along with some snow and strong winds. One plus to the snow accumulations, when melting occurs, it will fill area dams so producers should have enough water for summer irrigation. Most producers in central and western areas have small and large squares of hay for sale. Hay supplies in the Eastern areas of the state are very “tight” with many contacts reporting “sold out” in this week’s phone conversations.
