Weekly Texas Hay Report

   Compared to last report: All hay class sold fully steady. Movement was 
good but hay remains scarce which is now expected until new cutting comes 
on the markets in April or May.  Most of the hay moving now is contracted 
or older hay that has been stored in barns and may not be top end 
quality.  The Panhandle remains dry which only increases the demand for 
hay and concern about the availability for new crop in the spring.  
Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.

Panhandle/High Plains:
   Alfalfa: Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme 210.00-240.00; 
  Good to Premium 190.00-210.00.
  Large Rounds (1200 lbs): Delivered: Premium to Supreme 90.00

  Small Bales: Delivered: Premium 321.75, 9.75 per bale.
