Weekly Texas Hay Report

   Compared to last report: All hay class sold steady to firm. Movement 
remains good but hay has become scarce.  Most of the hay moving now is 
contracted or older hay that has been stored in barns.  The Panhandle 
remains dry which only increases the demand for hay and concern about the 
availability for new crop in the spring.  Coastal Bermuda producers in 
North, East and South Texas have mostly sold out or selling older hay to 
get consumers by until new crop.  Prices for hay and pellets quoted per 
ton except where noted.

Panhandle/High Plains:
   Alfalfa: Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme 210.00-240.00;
