Wyoming Hay Summary

Week ending February 09, 2018

Compared to last week all reported forages sold fully steady. Demand
was good from feedlots and ranchers both in state and out of state. Most
of the supreme and premium large square bales are going to out of state
dairies. Several contacts in the Western areas continue to have a hard
time finding trucks to move their products. Hay is very tight in the
Eastern side of WY with good supplies of alfalfa in the Central and West.
Some areas of the state has good snow pack that will fill irrigation dams
for summer use and some areas of the state are open without any snow. All
prices are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn unless otherwise
noted. Prices are from the most recent reported sales.
