California Hay Report

  Compared to last week: All classes traded steady with moderate demand.  
According to NASS Crop Progress report April 28, 2019, temperature highs ranged 
from low 60s to low 80s in the mountain region, high 50s to low 90s along the 
coast, low 70s to high 90s in the valley, and mid-70s to mid-100s in the desert.  
Temperature lows ranged from low 30s to high 50s in the mountain region, high 
30s to low 60s along the coast, mid 40s to high 60s in the valley, and mid-30s 
to mid-70s in the desert.  Dry farmed grain continued to be cut in San Luis 
Obispo. In Tulare, wheat and alfalfa continued to mature. Silage crops were 
being cut. Corn and cotton continued to be planted. Hay is reported FOB the 
stack or barn unless otherwise noted.  Regions are defined at bottom of report.
