Hay market trade activity and demand remains very slow, while prices remain
generally steady with a slight softening to old crop grinder hay. A few new crop
sales have been received and on average are 10.00 to 20.00 lower than old crop.
Those prices may not stick however, with this weather making it difficult to
move forward. Parts of southeast Kansas saw more than 5 inches of rain in a 24-
hour period. South central and southeast regions have seen between 10" to 12" of
rain, on average, since May 1st. Therefore, putting up hay is virtually at a
