Oklahoma Hay Market Report

Alfalfa trade very light as first cutting finally began this week. A good
amount of alfalfa is on the ground but very little baled at this point.
Yields are expected to be very good. No sales confirmed but most pricing
ideas near steady with last reported old crop. Wheat hay swathing also very
active and a few sales were confirmed. Record rainfall so far this month has
held up early haying. More rains, some very heavy, are expected over the
weekend.

Market News continues to maintain an online hay directory for both in-state
and out-of-state hay producers. The directories are on the ODAFF homepage
at www.oda.state.ok.us. Producers wishing to list hay are encouraged to call
at 1-405-522-3753 or email jack.carson@ag.ok.gov.
