Nebraska Hay Summary

Week Ending May 03, 2019

Compared to last week all reported forages sold steady. Demand was
moderate. Some contacts reported there has been more willing sellers this
week than people willing to buy. Snow and rain across some of the state
on Tuesday and Wednesday halting most spring tillage and planting. Warmer
weather is in the forecast and hopefully old man winter will stay at home
for the next several months. Some producers continue to bale cornstalks.
County road conditions still are poor across most of the state with some
areas applying weight restrictions. These restrictions have made it
difficult to get forage products to the farmer/rancher in remote areas.
All sales are dollars per ton FOB the field or hay barn, unless otherwise
noted.
